Guillermo Elkouss

Guillermo was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The son of a violin playing in a tango band, Guillermo became acquainted with the tango at a very young ago. His interest was further deepened through the tango shows that dominated both the radio and television programs at the time.

Guillermo began dancing the Tango in 1996, and has since then made Tango the central focus of his life. Though first initiated in the milonguero style, he later pursued intensive studies in Tango nuevo, canyengue, salon and stage, and now specializes in Villa Urquiza tango salon style. He has studied with many of the important maestros of the dance such as Cacho Dante, Susana Miller, Nito and Elba Garcia, Jorge Firpo, Aurora Lubiz. Gustavo Naviera and Giselle Anne, Raul Bravo, Roberto Reis, Daniela Arcuri and Armando Orzuzu, Carlos Perez and Rosa Fortem Daniel Nacuchhio and Cristina Sosa, among others.

With his background, Guiellrmo offers a learning experience that is borne of a deep understanding of the Argentine culture which cultivated the Argentine Tango, and has the ability to present to his students the logic underpinning the structure of the dance. His teaching tachnique works equally well for everyone from beginners to advance students.
